The ultrasonic can’t add anything to the oil, but it will diffuse the whole oil into the air, unlike an evaporative system where it’s only the volatile compounds that are released.
If you don’t want your carrier oils in the air, or if you know that the specific benefits you’re looking for come from the VOCs that evaporate readily, there are many easy ways to set up a reed-style system and they should be a lot cheaper than an ultrasonic.

You are wrong that ultrasonic are the best, particularly for health applications. Guess 40 hours wasn’t enough research time.

An oil diffuser leaving behind a film/residue seems to be an issue very few people experience and it’s not something we noticed in our testing. It’s possible using lower quality oils with fillers might contribute to this, but again we are not 100% sure. do these diffusers leave any oily residue on nearby surfaces? I wouldl like to try one in my kitchen but don’t want a film to develop on the cabinets , over time
