In reply to circe801. Since we first tested this lineup, Wisk has been replaced by Persil in Unilever's stable of products. Nobody's safe from a re-branding campaign these days, and the pricing often changes along with the target demographic.

i find it odd that persil was not tested. also, the oxi-clean liquid. and, i also find it odd that all and wisk used to be ‘top shelf’ detergents, but are now in the ‘economy’ group where arm & hammer and purex reside…

I don’t know ‘diddly-squaw’ about ‘cold-water’ oxi-powders. I guess that’s because I’m ‘some kind of a Navajo.’ It shore is a heck of a lot better than being ‘some kind of a monster’………as ‘James Hetfield’ would say……

I found this article very helpful. I’ve been doing a lot of research on laundry detergent and you provided so much information, all in one place, that answered multiple questions that I was having a hard time finding answers to. LOVED it! All the tables comparing each detergent on price, pH, etc. were great. I don’t know how you could have done a better job. :-).

I switched to powder detergent with oxygen bleach in my HE side loading washing machine because the liquid detergents made the machine smell.
