This is good to know, however, I just was told my Keurig, they are discontinuing the 475 and the 575 coffee makers. Go figure. They have removed them from their site. Good to know, Amazon still selling them.

These single-cup brewers are perfect for people who are too lazy to use a conventional coffee or tea maker. The negative environmental impact of all that non-recyclable plastic is enormous. If you would care to look into the scientific literature that shows how the oceans are being polluted at astounding levels by plastics introduced into the waste stream you would not buy something as stupid as one of these machines.

In reply to BDGallof. Agreed! However for this test, it wasn't easy to measure the actual brew temp of the water so we measured the after-brew temp instead. The results give us a sense of which machines were within the 195-205F range and which were very far off.

Water should be between 195-205F to extract the full flavor of the beans. Rest is meaningless. So in that, the single serves fail miserably.
